About Us
Psych Online Tutors was founded in 2009 and has since assisted many students both nationally and internationally in attaining excellent results for their psychology honours modules. Our aim is not only to assist students to excel academically, but also to develop as a prospective counsellor/psychologist.

The company offers an effective online forum that includes interactive tutorial classes. These sessions are available as live classes for students who would like to attend class and are also recorded for the convenience of students who are not able to attend. We follow a structured programme, but also allow space and time for questions or queries. Tutorials include examining the course material, help with assignments, so that you can attain the best possible year mark going into the exam, as well as extensive examination preparation. Excellent notes that include summaries of theory, and exam questions with model answers are also available.
Meet the Team
Michelle Lawrence
Michelle Lawrence is a psychologist (BA (Psych), BA Psych (hons), Masters (Counselling Psychology)) and developed Psych Online Tutors when she was approached in 2009 by a group of desperate Unisa honours students who asked if she would tutor them. The company has grown exponentially over the years.
Additionally, she has her own counselling practice (individuals of all ages and couple therapy) that utilises the Ecosystemic Narrative Therapeutic approach. She also uses Equine Assisted Psychotherapy (using horses in the therapeutic process) in her practice (http://www.chrysalisequine.com) and is a trained mediator and facilitator (FAMAC), which focuses on high conflict situations, such as divorce, parent co-ordination (care and contact of minors), relationship conflict etc. From a volunteer perspective she has been a Lifeline counsellor since 1999 and presents on their Personal Growth and Counselling Skills courses, as well as facilitates these programmes.

Cayleigh Lawrence
Cayleigh has her BSocPsy (Psych and Anthropology) through UCT and her Honours in Psychology (Unisa) and has completed her B.Psych Equivalent through UNISA. Additionally, she is currently completing her Clinical Masters at UCT (2018). In addition to being a part of Psych Online Tutors, she is a Registered Counsellor with the HPCSA and has her own practice (www.facebook.com/cayleighlawrencecounselling).
Cayleigh also has experience with multiple research projects and has been a volunteer at Lifeline/Childline as a counsellor and facilitator for over 7 years. In addition, she has been a counsellor at Kidz Voices, a Gestalt based play therapy intervention run in various schools. She also runs peer counselling and communication workshops at schools for grade 8 to 11.

Sophia Lourens
Sophia tutors cognitive neuroscience, adult development and sports psychology with Psych Online Tutors. She holds an honours degree in psychology (Cum Laude) and an honours degree in linguistics through Unisa. In addition to being part of Psych Online Tutors, she is also employed as a language practitioner. She has been a volunteer telephone counsellor at Lifeline for three years and is currently assisting on a psychological research project about PTSD. She has a passion for helping people reach their full potential through empowered learning.

Chelsea Lloyd
Chelsea has completed both her BA (Psychology and English) and Psychology (Honours) through Unisa, as well as her PGCE. She has been an avid student at Psych Online Tutors since she was in third year. She originally joined Psych Online Tutors in assisting with the admin and has been invaluable in that role and has since then become a tutor for Psych Online. In addition, Chelsea is a facilitator at Herzlia for 2019, as well as a volunteer telephonic counsellor for LifeLine.

Sarah Basiak
Sarah completed her BA undergrad at the University of the Western Cape, with a triple major. She is currently in the last year of completing her honours in Psychological counselling through Unisa. She originally joined Psych Online Tutors as a student and has now taken over the admin position. She is also a volunteer Child Support Worker for Kids Voices.
